Why the pivot to ‘Health in Faith’?

For years, I believed the key to health was in discipline, data, and doing more.
As a vegan ultramarathon runner and clinical nutritionist, I chased performance, perfection, and the next ‘best’ health trend.

But somewhere in the middle of all the clean eating and long miles, I lost the peace.

Today, through Health in Faith — my re-launched podcast — I’m sharing why I decided to start again, how God shifted my view of wellness, and what it means to pursue true health as a Christian woman.

If you’ve ever felt torn between worldly wellness and Biblical wisdom, this story is for you.

When I first launched my original show, Eternal Health, my goal was to teach nutrition from a Christian perspective. But over time, I realized something deeper was missing.

I was still focusing too much on purely the world’s language — calories, carbs, keto, supplements, fasting — but not always grounding it in God’s truth…or His rest.

The science was sound, but the soul wasn’t centered. That’s when the Lord began whispering:

“Laura, it’s time to come home. Optimum health is not about striving, it’s about being and operating from a place of grounded peace, poise, balance and nourishment.”

I spent the next few years walking closely with the Lord in the midst of personal traumatic circumstances and in 2020 I stopped Eternal Health to write my best-selling book on Covid and the church (under a pen name).

In early 2025, I clearly heard Him invite me, for the second time, to start a health podcast to help Christians and anyone curious about faith and Biblical truth and wisdom. I just ‘happened’ to find an amazing podcast mentor for Christian women too and felt compelled to join her year long coaching programme…

And so, Health in Faith was born — a podcast where food, faith, and freedom finally meet.
Not just another health show, but a space for Christian women to reconnect their spiritual and physical wellness through Biblical wisdom, science, and grace.

In the podcast, I’ll draw from my decades of not only Nutritional training, research and coaching experience, but also my own personal journey and mistakes – so you can avoid them!

My Journey of Transformation: From Vegan to Biblical Nutrition

Let’s be real — I’ve been through all the phases.

• Vegan ultramarathon runner: fueled by plants, pushing my body to the edge of exhaustion in the name of “health.”
• Keto-alkaline nutritionist: obsessed with macros, blood sugar, and supplements — chasing balance but often living in extremes.
• Biblical health advocate: finally understanding that less is more when we walk in alignment with God’s design.

This evolution didn’t happen overnight.
It came through burnout, prayer, Scripture, and the realization that health isn’t about control — it’s about stewardship.

As 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 reminds us:

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

It reminds you that health isn’t about achieving perfection — it’s about walking in obedience and gratitude.

Romans 12:1 puts it beautifully:

“Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is your true and proper worship.”

That’s the heartbeat of Health in Faith.
Your wellness can worship.

A Biblical Definition of Health

Here’s the truth I wish I’d learned years ago:
Health isn’t the absence of disease or the number on a scale — it’s the presence of alignment.

Alignment with God’s design.
Alignment with peace instead of pressure.
Alignment with purpose instead of perfectionism.

When your habits flow from faith, your health stops being a burden and becomes an act of worship.
