If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting health advice, confused about which path to take, or simply weary from carrying a health burden, you’re not alone. Here’s a prayer for health… We need the Lord’s wisdom and to be ‘praying without ceasing’ more than ever.
We live in a world overflowing with information. Every day there seems to be a new expert, a new study, a new diet, a new medication, a new supplement or a new solution promising to fix what ails us. Yet despite having more information than any previous generation, many people feel more confused than ever.
As Christians, we have access to something the world cannot offer: the wisdom of God.
That doesn’t mean we reject doctors, healthcare professionals or medical research. It does mean we learn to seek the Lord first. We pause. We pray. We ask for wisdom. We exercise discernment. We recognise that health decisions are not merely physical decisions but stewardship decisions.
In this special episode of Health in Faith, I wanted to do something slightly different. Rather than teach another health principle or discuss another metabolic health strategy, I simply wanted to pray for you.
This prayer was inspired by a passage from Proverbs that struck me deeply when preparing Episode 38, where I discussed an unusual Bible verse connected to health, wisdom and discernment.

The passage that prompted this prayer comes from Proverbs 7. One verse in particular stood out:
“Immediately he went after her… till an arrow struck his liver.”
The wider passage describes a man lacking wisdom who follows a seductive path without understanding the consequences. Spiritually, the warning is obvious. Yet as I reflected on it, I felt the Lord highlighting something broader.
Many people approach their health in a similar way.
They follow the latest trend. They trust the loudest voice. They assume that every recommendation has their best interests at heart. They accept what they are told without stopping to ask whether it is wise, whether it is effective or whether it aligns with God’s design for the body.
That isn’t a criticism. Most of us have done it at one time or another. I know I certainly have.
The reality is that health decisions are often made under pressure. When you’re tired, in pain, worried about symptoms or concerned about a diagnosis, it is easy to reach for the quickest answer available.
Yet throughout Scripture, God repeatedly calls His people to seek wisdom.
Proverbs tells us that wisdom is the principal thing. James tells us that if anyone lacks wisdom, they should ask God who gives generously. Time and again, we see the Lord guiding His people not merely through information but through discernment.
Health is no different.
One of the most important habits we can develop is learning to pause before making health decisions.
Most people do the opposite. A symptom appears and immediately we search online. We ask social media. We consult friends. We seek opinions from every direction.
Yet how often do we stop and ask: “Lord, what is Your wisdom here?”
That simple question can transform the way we approach our health.
Again, this doesn’t mean ignoring professional advice. It means recognising that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our physical health. It means acknowledging that the Creator understands the body far better than we ever could.
As Christians, we should be people who seek the Lord first and then move forward with wisdom, peace and discernment.
The following prayer is adapted directly from this episode and offered as a written prayer you can return to whenever you need encouragement.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I lift up the person reading these words right now.
Lord, they are Your child, deeply loved and precious in Your sight. I ask that You would pour out Your blessing upon their body, mind, soul and spirit.
Father, I pray for Your healing power to flow through every area of their life. Cover them afresh with the precious blood of Jesus. Protect their health, their relationships, their thoughts, their calling, their work and every good thing You have entrusted to them.
In an age of confusion and competing voices, grant them clarity. Where the enemy has brought distraction, fear or deception, bring truth and wisdom. Where straight paths have become crooked, guide them back onto Your path of righteousness and peace.
Lord, let Your rod and Your staff comfort and direct them.
Give them discernment in every health decision they face. Help them to know where to seek advice, what information to trust and which solutions are truly beneficial.
When health concerns arise, remind them to seek You first.
May there be a holy pause before decisions are made. A moment to ask:
“Lord, what is Your wisdom here?”
Father, protect them from the temptation of quick fixes that promise much but deliver little. Give them patience to pursue lasting solutions that work with the body You created rather than against it.
I pray specifically for their liver and all the organs of detoxification. Strengthen and restore them. Bring healing where healing is needed. Reveal any areas that require attention before problems become more serious.
Help us to understand that the body works as an integrated whole. Give us wisdom to seek root causes rather than merely managing symptoms. Show us solutions that bring genuine healing without creating new problems elsewhere.
Holy Spirit, grant supernatural discernment. Help us recognise what is from You and what is not. Guard us from deception and lead us into truth.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for the healing and resurrection life You purchased through the cross. Thank You that You rose victorious and that our future is secure in You.
Until that glorious day when all things are made new, help us to steward these earthly bodies wisely. Strengthen us in mind, body and spirit. Fill us with Your joy, for the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Give us wisdom.
Give us peace.
Give us favour.
And may our lives bring glory to Your holy name.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
One thing I often remind my clients is that health stewardship is not about fear.
It’s not about becoming obsessed with every ingredient, every supplement or every health headline.
It is about wisdom.
God has given us incredible bodies with remarkable capacity for healing, recovery and restoration. Our role is not to become anxious investigators. Our role is to become faithful stewards.
That means making sensible choices. It means nourishing our bodies well. It means seeking truth. It means exercising discernment.
And most importantly, it means recognising that our ultimate trust is not in a doctor, a supplement, a programme or a protocol.
Our trust is in the Lord.
If you’ve been struggling with your health, I want to encourage you today.
Do not lose heart.
Whether you’re dealing with low energy, stubborn weight gain, brain fog, chronic symptoms or simply uncertainty about what to do next, God sees you.
He knows exactly where you are.
And He is not confused about the path forward.
Take the next step in front of you. Seek His wisdom. Ask for discernment. Trust Him to guide you.
One wise step taken consistently is often more powerful than a hundred rushed decisions made in fear.
If you’d like practical support alongside prayer, I would love to help.
