If you’re looking for a Christian approach to weight loss that goes beyond another diet or quick fix, I’d like to do something a little different in this article. Rather than teaching another health principle, I want to tell you the story behind Health in Faith, why I created Health for Life and why I believe God has called me to help Christians lose weight, reclaim their energy and steward their health well. My hope is that by the end, you’ll understand not only how I can help you, but why I’m so passionate about doing so.

Whether you’re trying to lose belly fat, improve your metabolic health, increase your energy, reduce your reliance on medication or simply feel more like yourself again, this article explains the heart behind everything I teach.
I’ve now worked as a Nutritionist and Health Coach for almost 25 years. When I first began, I worked with anyone who wanted help improving their health. Back in 2015, when my first book was published by Hay House, I suddenly found myself coaching people from all over the world. There was television coverage, national newspaper publicity and a large book launch campaign, which brought many wonderful clients through my door.
At that time, however, my own health philosophy looked very different. I was vegan and my first book reflected what I believed then. Looking back now, I can see that both my nutritional beliefs and my spiritual beliefs still had a long way to go.
The Lord has a wonderful way of patiently leading us into truth.
Over the following years He completely transformed my life. He graciously brought me out of New Age beliefs and, in time, He also changed my understanding of nutrition and health. As my faith deepened, my approach to helping people became simpler, more biblical and far more effective.
By 2017 I realised that nutrition alone wasn’t enough.
Of course, food matters. Minerals matter. Hydration matters. Sleep matters. But after coaching hundreds of people, it became increasingly obvious that lasting health rarely comes from changing just one thing.
Someone could be eating well but sleeping terribly.
Another person exercised faithfully but lived under constant stress.
Someone else focused entirely on calories while ignoring nutrient deficiencies, gut health or emotional wellbeing.
Health isn’t built on one habit. It’s built on many simple habits working together.
That understanding led me to create my first version of Health for Life, a 12-week coaching programme designed to help people improve every major area of health rather than simply following another diet.
Everything changed again after 2020.
During the Covid years, I became increasingly concerned about many of the policies, regulations and assumptions surrounding healthcare. Those concerns eventually led me to write a book for Christians, which unexpectedly became a bestseller in the Christian leadership category.
Following the release of that book, thousands of Christians began following my work. I also started hosting a monthly online meeting called Prep and Connect, where we discuss discernment, current events and practical ways Christians can prepare wisely for the times we’re living in.
It was during that season that I sensed the Lord asking me a difficult question.
Why was I trying to help everyone when He was specifically calling me to equip His people?

I took time away to pray and fast.
I wanted to be certain that this wasn’t simply my own idea.
During those days of seeking the Lord, I felt a very clear sense that my assignment was to equip Christians with what I came to describe as “the mind and the guts for thriving in unhealthy times.”
That phrase has stayed with me ever since.
The “mind” includes mental clarity, emotional resilience and spiritual discernment.
The “guts” includes physical gut health, digestion, metabolic health, courage and that God-given ability to discern when something simply isn’t right.
The more I reflected on it, the more I realised these things are beautifully connected. Modern science increasingly recognises the relationship between the brain and the gut through pathways such as the gut-brain axis, while Scripture reminds us that wisdom, discernment and stewardship all matter deeply to God.
That became the new foundation of Health for Life.
I won’t pretend it wasn’t daunting.
Narrowing my focus to Christians felt risky from a business perspective. Would I lose clients? Would I reduce my audience? Was I making the wrong decision?
Yet I knew I needed to obey what I believed God was asking me to do.
Looking back, it has been one of the greatest blessings of my career.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of coaching hundreds of believers who wanted more than another weight loss programme. They wanted a health approach that aligned with their faith, honoured Scripture and viewed the body as something to steward rather than punish.
Again and again I’ve seen people lose weight, regain energy, improve their confidence and begin enjoying health in a completely different way.
One lesson I’ve learned after working with thousands of people is that complexity rarely creates consistency.
People don’t usually fail because they lack information.
They fail because they’re overwhelmed.
That’s why I’ve spent years simplifying everything I teach.
At the end of 2025 I completely rebuilt Health for Life again. I streamlined the programme into what I now call the TANDEM WALTZ™ Blueprint, a simple four-step framework that brings together everything I’ve learned over more than two decades of coaching.
The programme still covers all the major pillars of health—nutrition, hydration, gut health, sleep, movement, hormones, detoxification, mental wellbeing and more—but instead of overwhelming people with endless information, every module focuses on just a few practical actions that create the greatest impact.
That’s intentional.
I’m far more interested in helping someone consistently do three important things than inconsistently attempt thirty.
One illustration I often use with clients is a team of huskies pulling a sled.
Imagine twelve huskies all pulling together. None of them has to work at maximum effort because they’re sharing the load. The sled moves smoothly and steadily.
Now imagine only three huskies trying to pull that same sled while the other nine are lying down asleep.
Those three dogs have to work incredibly hard just to make slow progress.
That’s exactly how many people approach health.
They put all their hope in one thing.
A new diet.
A supplement.
An exercise class.
A medication.
A weight loss injection.
Meanwhile, sleep is poor. Stress is high. Nutrition is inconsistent. Muscle is declining. Hydration is lacking.
They’re asking one “husky” to do the work of twelve.
Real health happens when all the important areas begin pulling together in the same direction.
Health for Life has never simply been another business project for me.
It has become my ministry.
My service to the Body of Christ.
My labour of love.
Every module, every worksheet, every assessment, every video and every coaching session has been created with one purpose in mind: helping Christians become healthier so they have the strength, energy and resilience to fulfil whatever God has called them to do.
That is why I’ve spent years refining the programme instead of constantly creating new ones.
I’d rather make one programme exceptional than produce dozens of average ones.
One of the biggest lies people believe is that ageing automatically means decline.
I don’t accept that.
Yes, we all grow older.
But growing older does not automatically mean becoming increasingly tired, overweight, dependent on medication or unable to enjoy life.
I’ve watched clients in their 60s, 70s and even 80s improve their health dramatically.
Many have lost weight.
Others have improved blood pressure, blood sugar, mobility or energy. Others simply tell me they feel better than they have in years.
I’ve experienced many of those changes myself.
Today, in my late 40s, I feel healthier, stronger and more energetic than I did in my 20s and 30s.
That’s not because I’ve discovered some miracle solution.
It’s because I’ve spent years learning how God designed the body to work—and then applying those principles consistently.
If any part of this story resonates with you, I’d love to invite you to explore Health for Life.
Whether your goal is losing weight, improving metabolic health, increasing your energy, reducing brain fog, supporting healthy blood sugar or simply stewarding your body more faithfully, I’d be honoured to help you.
